I have a picture, and God's been showing it to me for a while now, of us as a church.
We
are a wave on the sea, advancing towards the shore, but we have entered a
phase where the wave has frozen solid ... poised to crash over the
beach and advance God's Kingdom powerfully, but held back for some
reason.
And I feel that God is saying that WE are the reason we are being frozen - because we have been trying to advance this wave in our own strength, in our own time, through our own plans.
But God has a mighty purpose for Salt & Light in this city and in this region of Africa, and this is NOT the time to lose heart or to shrink back from the battle. God is waiting to release us, to bring us into a place of increased influence and increased favour: if we will only press in tighter to Him, if we refuse to be downhearted or discouraged, if we continue to wage war in the heavenlies through our passionate prayer for more of Him and for more of His Kingdom.
Do not allow seemingly unanswered prayer or unfulfilled prophecy to hold you back from the fight ... the wave is going to break, and God's restoration and redemption is going to flood through this church, and through us to the nations.
Stand firm.
